Start creating the future you want with a BS in Cybersecurity from a designated Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD). Aligned with the academic requirements set by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security, Excelsior University’s career-focused program offers a hybrid curriculum designed to instill the technical, analytical, and ethical foundations you need to defend systems, test vulnerabilities, and solve real challenges.
You’ll complete your coursework through our intuitive online learning platform with 24/7 availability. But that’s just part of the experience. Every hybrid course includes in-person lab sessions mirroring realistic scenarios in incident response, digital forensics, and cyber defense. Held in St. Petersburg, Florida, during evenings or weekends, these sessions—three hours every other week—give you the opportunity to apply what you’ve learned in a real-world setting and network face-to-face with peers and faculty.

- Choose the Cyber Operations concentration to focus on cyber threats, cybercrime, and terrorism or select the General concentration and tailor coursework to fit your individual career goals.
- Prepare for top jobs in cybersecurity and industry certification exams such as CISP, CEH, Security+, Network+, CHFI, SSCP, and ESCP.
- Hone leadership and collaboration skills with hands-on activities that include applied networking labs, red team–blue team defensive engagements, cyber incident simulations, and live tool-based security practice.
